The packaging industry is currently going through a period of change on multiple fronts, smart packaging is becoming more prevalent with higher demand for on-pack interactions and marketing is evolving with innovations in structures, finishes and materials.
With Tetra Pak being a global innovator in packaging manufacturing, they have ventured into the world of apps and have had the opportunity to expand the way they communicate and market to their customers with cutting-edge, business critical tools.
Need States were used by marketers for consumer insights to help understand what motivates people when choosing a beverage. The research was collected to create 7 Need States, this project led us to not only digitise the data, but to revolutionise the way it is presented by creating an interactive product showcase exploring photo realistic, 3D renders of packaging in AR.
The app has been successfully deployed across Tetra Pak’s UK and European offices, enabling potential customers to view and explore packaging in-situ, without the need for traditional prototypes and concept boards.
PACKAGING DESIGN
Furthermore, Tetra Pak were developing an eighth Need State to include into the app, called “Wellbeing.” Moodboards were developed to represent this Need State and translate them into visuals for video with concept package designs for the app.
