01. The Brief

Award winning, MummyMoneyMatters was conceived by Kalpana Fitzpatrick, a well-respected financial journalist, broadcaster and parent.

She discovered that mums were often overlooked and kept out of the loop when it came to money so she came to us to create the branding and website for her idea.

02. The Design

As with any branding project, we sought to get as much information from the client as possible to ascertain any preconceived notions they might already have with the style, colour and shape of the logo.

We began sketching ideas on paper and narrowed down the drawings which appealed to the client before progressing to the development stage. Here, we vectorised the logo and added colour to the shapes. Choosing the right colour was important as we didn’t want to be gender biased but we wanted it to be bold and attractive.

03. The Result

After branding was complete we moved onto designing the website. We used a vanilla WordPress template and fit a bespoke design around it. Furthermore, we built in a database which connected to a HTML email template so that weekly newsletters would be managed directly by the client and also a banner ad management system which would allocate paid company banners to specific areas of the website.

A year after its launch Mummy Money Matters won the Mumpreneur UK website award for being being visually pleasing, content rich, clear and easy to understand. It has also been featured in the media on Mrs Moneypenny, BBC news and Channel 4’s SuperScrimpers.
